Book Review - "Steal like an artist"
Book by Austin Kleon
I feel this is a book given to everyone out there.
Each and every one of us has some creative corner deep inside us but most of us won't give time for it in our daily race.
ART is life, life without art feels so dumb
Art is a therapy.
Art lies everywhere. What's your take on this?
This book is for anyone generating some creative work in any realm they are into. It's been two years since I read it for the first time.
I want to share the things that got plunged into my mind since then

The first thing which was strongly there in my thoughts is everything we see out in various forms around us are not their original form. They are based on some of the picked ideas from previously created things. It is based on the idea that no creativity is original and that all ideas are stemmed from other ideas. Basically, he says to Steal the ideas.
Yes, you heard it right, everything, everyone around us, including you steals. Think about a minute before you jump into the next line.
Don't you feel it, yes we get ideas from stealing the 10 other ideas around us.
Basically, it talks about stealing ideas and sorting them out, picking two ideas and changing them to your taste or to your creativity, and MAKE IT AS CREATIVE AS YOU CAN.
The author talks about stealing things in two different ways.
One is GOOD THEFT- here good theft refers to honoring, studying, crediting, and transforming the ideas you got to see.
And the other one is BAD THEFT - coming to bad theft, he referred it as degrading, plagiarizing, imitating, and ripping off ideas.
And it's up to you to choose your path to creativity. I prefer good theft as it is a healthier choice.
After hearing some reviews and reading the book, I want to tell you the three things that got stuck into my mind.
The first thing is, to see 100 ideas and pick two among them and try to create something out of it with your ideas. Basically, it's like reading 100 books and writing one.
The second point is to have hobbies and side projects to keep alive our creative corner, which feels so satisfying and therapeutic as well.
And the last but most important thing is, don't steal credit for other's work, do your good creative work with your potential and share it with people.
I feel strongly, that this is a book that pushes the so dumb people who are not letting their creativity flow to come out of their comfort zone and start the art with their hands. This book lets everyone out there start doing without waiting to figure out the perfect time and perfect environment. It says -'To start first then everything falls into place as you learn many other ways to be more creative'.
From the Author's perspective, this is a - "Manifesto for creativity in the Digital Age"
I agree with the author's perspective, do let me know your thoughts after reading it.
The bonus tip is, that this is the shortest book with pictures in it making it beginner-friendly and engaging which can be completed in a day.
That's it from my side.
